Reverend Canon Ben Eaton

We are immensely sad to learn of the passing into glory of Reverend Canon Ben Eaton on Tuesday morning, who served as Chaplain at Holy Trinity Church Maison Laffite from 1988 to 2002 (during which time he was also made a Canon). Many will remember his passion, warmth, determination, contagious joy, and his natural exuberance!
Ben was born in South Carolina, studied in Lebanon, trained for the priesthood in Puerto Rico, was ordained for the diocese of Ecuador, served parishes in Exeter and Southwark, as well as in the chaplaincies of Barcelona and St Raphael. He was a truly international priest who touched the lives of everyone he met. Ben’s funeral will be held on Thursday 3rd February at 1pm at St Margaret’s Church, Ilkley, LS29 9QL.
Our thoughts and prayers for God’s peace and comfort are with his wife Anne, and his son, Benji. May he rest in peace and rise in glory!
